N50 – Wool Sale – 10 June 2021

Wool prices continued the recent upward trend at today’s sale and 98% of the offering sold on strong exporter bidding. There was again, strong competition for the very good colour low VM (vegetable matter) 2-3 inch second shear types on demand from sales to Europe and India. When we consider this class of wool represented 45% of the total offering today it was great that the strong demand continued for these short shears. The smaller offering of 1st lambs continued to struggle on ongoing weak demand from China.XBD Fleece and 2nd shear ~ 4 to 6% dearer.
XBD Hgt 2nd shear ~ 4 to 5% dearer.
XBD 1st Lambs ~ Generally unchanged. 2nd Lambs ~ 2 to 3% dearer.
XBD Oddments ~ 4 to 6% dearer.
