N04 – Wool Sale – 22 July 2021

The upward price tendency we have seen over the last two months continued at today’s North Island Sale. The catalysts which started to lift prices, remained today as buyers purchased to cover forward orders while others may have been taking some stock. All buyers are aware the number of bales on offer in the North Island will lessen when farmers stop shearing as they get closer to lambing and this may be adding pressure to cover orders. Again it was the low VM (vegetable matter) second shears bringing the highest prices with some shears now reaching $3.00 clean.
XBD Fleece and 2nd Shear ~ 2 to 4% dearer.
XBD 2nd Shear Hgts ~ 3 to 4% dearer.
XBD 1st Lambs Nominally ~ 2 to 4% dearer.
XBD 2nd Shear Oddments ~ 2 to 6% dearer. Exception of good colour which was 3 % cheaper.

Sale approximately 2%
CPW 2%
