The first sale of the 2021/2022 season saw prices continue to improve compared to our sale 2 weeks ago, with all types creating competition from a full bench of buyers. Crossbred second shear short and long in staple saw the most competition. Some early pre lamb fleece also created much interest with well prepared good style types fetching premiums of up to 20cents clean. All oddments were up to 10 to15% dearer. A small offering of mid micron types saw the market tread water with exporters very selective. Europe and India are the principal buyers with China still not showing their hand in the market.
